Pick the Eleventh Doctor!

Someone who's expressed interest in the part several times -- and who I think would be phenomenal, but will never ever get the chance because of age?

RIGHT?

After the sheer number of brilliant possibilities laid out today, I don't see how anybody could be 100% crushed by Tennant leaving. To me, it screams win/win.

(...she says as she plans to hop a train tomorrow to see said Tennant do Shakespeare.)

Oh, same here. I got into it via him, in a convoluted way, and at the end of the day, I think he'll always be my core image of who the Doctor is. But like you say, it sounds like it's what he wants, and I think that's really good for him beyond career-wise, actually. The stress of the job has got to take a toll.

(ZOMG I SAW EINSTEIN AND EDDINGTON TUESDAY AND IT WAS V. V. V. V. GOOD)

It probably won't pop up until it airs in the UK (in a couple of weeks, I think?) I went to a BAFTA screening that was open to the public. It was, like, eight pounds or something, and there was a Q&A session with the director afterwards. You can't beat it with a stick.

Thanks! kho made it for me. Best quote *ever*. :-D

It's sad how much of my trip has been Who-centric in some shape or form. I went to the screening, I've got David's RSC plays this weekends, I went to the Exhibition today, I hung out with robshearman Monday...

I would LOVE to see him in the role. Screw age. I happen to think he's still quite a handsome man.

I totally agree with you! I think he'd bring a charm and a weathered intelligence to it that some of the younger suggestions couldn't manage.
